What is the Duress PIN and how does it work?+
The Duress PIN is a second PIN that looks identical to your normal unlock PIN from the outside. When you enter it, the phone appears to unlock normally — but simultaneously, it silently destroys every encryption key stored in the Titan M2 security chip. The result is a completely blank, factory-clean phone that shows nothing. The officer, agent, or attacker has no way to know the wipe occurred. There is no forensic recovery possible after a Duress PIN wipe.
Why can't I just install GrapheneOS myself for less money?+
You can — but the standard web installer leaves your bootloader unlocked. An unlocked bootloader disables verified hardware boot, leaves the Titan M2 chip in a degraded security state, and means any attacker with 30 seconds of USB access can permanently compromise your device. The Ghost Edition's bootloader is cryptographically re-locked post-flash — the only configuration that activates full hardware security. This is not a minor detail.
